i have been sports betting for about a week now. been picking up the lingo as i go and as i read these forums more and more. however, i'm still confused as to what units actualy are, or how they are calculated. is this follow example right?

everyone sets their own "unit". lets say my unit is $10.

i bet 10 dollars (1 unit) on 5 bets, spending 50 dollars. i go 4/5 and come out with say $85.34, making a $35.35 profit. am i up 3.53 units? 8.53 units? am i wrong completely?

someone please explan! thank u!

3.53 You won that many units.

Make sense?

If your unit is $10, just think of it as how many $10 bills you won or lost.

Technically in that example he wins 8.5 units, but profits 3.5 units ;)

cmsone, units are used to measure profit. Thinking of it in bills is a good example.
